RESOLUTION Adopted by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter on the Passing of Soror Erica Blake Washington.
WHEREAS, The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated (NPHC) is currently composed of nine International Greek letter Sororities and Fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania, an alumni council, is comprised of 25 affiliate chapters;
and WHEREAS, our beloved Soror, Erica Blake Washington, was called home to be with our Lord and savior on the Sixth day of March, in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Twenty-One; and WHEREAS, Soror Washington received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing from Hampton University; and WHEREAS, Soror Washington was a tireless worker in her professional career as a Claims Supervisor at Prudential Insurance Company in Horsham, PA;
and WHEREAS, Soror Washington was initiated as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. through the Gamma Theta Chapter on March 26, 1977;
and WHEREAS, Soror Washington was a Silver Star member and Life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She served as Ivy Leaf reporter and worked on several committees in the Omega Omega chapter, including bowling party, fashion show, and history & archives;
and WHEREAS, Soror Washington was an avid supporter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania, serving the Council with distinction and unbridled commitment to the mandated programs and activities. She served as Corresponding Secretary and also served on various committees including Greek Week.
She was loved by her Greek family and will be greatly missed; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania hereby honor and remember Soror Erica Blake Washington; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the family of Soror Erica Blake Washington as an expression of high regard by the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania;
and BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, a copy of this resolution shall be filed among the Council’s permanent archives and a copy forwarded to our National Headquarters to do likewise.
